Another busy month from the Hertswood CanSat team!

Cake Sale

This week we organised a cake sale at break time to students, raising £37.50. Due to its success we hope to run another sale soon to raise funds.

Ground support equipment

We will use a Yagi antenna, since from our research we found this was a reliable antenna that has been used on many CanSat projects to collect data for our CanSat. We will have a SD Card on board to collect data in case of data transmission interruption. The ground Station will be connected to a laptop to collect data. One crucial part is to make sure a laptop is chosen with sufficient power to last a few hours out in the launch site. We will build an antenna out of wood and brass using instructions we found online.

Thermal imaging

Ryan has successfuly created a software for the thermal imaging camera for a secondary mission.

Project Management

We have a strong team, however, we have lost one member. Our useful software engineer has created code that has given us huge amounts of progress towards our goals and our system’s engineer has effectively multi-tasked to ensure that everyone is well on their way to completing their individual goals.

We'll have the next update after Christmas as we get closer to the competition...!
